Edward Wants to Play
2009. This installation, placed in an unusual store-front venue, is made up of framed pine wood, old books, cut-outs of cats, painted canvas, distressed worn furniture, a playable violin, and a fabric polyester screen to receive a video loop that plays continuously.
After spending time in a farm-like home in New England, I wanted to put shape to feelings acquired there: the sense of a boy, full of wonder at play, yet caught in the vacant structure of a broken and fragmented home where he circles repeatedly.
